TRASH ART
As multidisciplinary builders, both Zima and Will are not only developers and community organizers, but also visual artists. Naturally, this creative background influenced the development and communication strategy behind the Noggleboards project. From its inception, artistic experimentation became a core element of the portfolio, blending subcultural aesthetics with web3-native symbolism. Trash Art, a movement born on-chain that embraces glitch, appropriation, remix culture, and low-fi visual language was a fitting medium for this expression. Within the Noggleboards ecosystem, we began incorporating custom boards as visual “Noggle traits,” repurposing them in digital collages, experimental photography, and video formats. These artistic outputs explore the convergence of identity, meme culture, and physical craft in a decentralized context. Our work frequently leans into absurdity, embracing “cringe” as an intentional device. Surf, skate, and tech culture are filtered through a raw, anti-polished lens, creating a visual and narrative tone that resists mainstream aesthetics. Whether through scuffed 3D renders, hacked-together animations, or chaotic media drops, the Noggleboards’ art direction embodies the playful irreverence of both Trash Art and the open-source creative spirit that defines Ethereum’s builder culture.
